Calling all chocolate and salted caramel lovers! This treat features two beloved flavors in one irresistible bite. The best part? There's no cooking required! But what makes this treat even sweeter is how nutrition-packed it is.
Did you know that dark chocolate boasts a solid dose of magnesium? A miracle mineral, magnesium plays a major role in hormone regulation, metabolism, mood, sleep and countless areas of our health. Combined with the power of seed cycling, indulging in this chocolatey brownie decadence means supporting not only your hormones, but total mind-body wellness.
Flourish in the follicular with Phase 1 seeds
Unlock hormonal harmony during your follicular phase with our Phase 1 seeds. Packed with flax and pumpkin seeds, this blend provides essential nutrients to support estrogen, the leading hormone in this phase.
Flax seeds are rich in lignans, compounds that support healthy estrogen levels in the body. Additionally, the omega-3 fatty acids in flax seeds can help reduce inflammation, easing symptoms like bloating and breast tenderness.
Pumpkin seeds are packed with zinc, a mineral that supports hormone production, menstrual regularity and immune function. Plus, the magnesium in pumpkin seeds can help with blood sugar management and ease menstrual cramps in your next phase. Speaking of which…
Riding the luteal wave with Phase 2 seeds
Sail through your luteal phase with ease, with help from our Phase 2 seed cycling blend. During the luteal phase, progesterone levels are meant to rise to prepare the body for potential pregnancy. Imbalances in progesterone, however, can lead to symptoms like irritability, fatigue, and mood swings. That's where Phase 2 comes in.
Sesame seeds contain compounds that support progesterone production, which is often lowered by high stress. Additionally, they’re also rich in vitamin E, an antioxidant that reduces inflammation and protects cells from damage, helping to alleviate symptoms like bloating and breast tenderness.
Sunflower seeds, another essential ingredient in Phase 2, provide a boost of magnesium, a crucial mineral for mood regulation and relaxation. Magnesium deficiency is common during the luteal phase and can exacerbate PMS symptoms like cramps, anxiety and insomnia. By eating sunflower seeds, you can support a smoother transition into your menstrual phase.
Makes: 8 pieces
Prep Time: 15 mins
Chill Time: 30 mins
Ingredients:
Brownies layer:
- 1 ½ cups pitted fresh dates (soaked in warm water)
- ½ cup walnuts
- 4 scoops beeya seed cycling blends
- 3 Tbsp cacao powder
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp sea salt
Caramel layer:
- 2 Tbsp peanut butter
- 3 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp melted coconut oil
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate topping:
- ¼ cup melted dark chocolate
- pinch of sea salt
Instructions:
- Soak the dates in warm water for 15 minutes, then drain and proceed with the recipe. Combine dates, walnuts, beeya, cocoa, vanilla, and salt in a food processor. Process until it comes together as a dough and there are no large chunks left. Scrape down as needed. If your dough is too crumbly, add a splash of water until it comes together.
- Line a small sheet tray with parchment paper. Then transfer the dough to the tray. Press firmly until dough is evenly distributed. A second parchment paper on top helps since the dough is sticky.
- Stir together the caramel sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Drizzle over the brownie layer.
- Transfer to the freezer to set (about 20 mins), then pour over the top layer of melted chocolate and sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt. Transfer back to the freezer for 10 mins.
- Cut into 8 pieces and enjoy your chocolatey hormone supporting delight! There is a ½ scoop of beeya in each piece.
Note:
If you love coffee flavored treats, try replacing vanilla extract with espresso or strongly brewed coffee. It intensifies the chocolate notes and makes for the perfect lunchtime pick-me-up.
