How to live an intentional life

Embrace intentionality for a transformative and fulfilling life journey.

The power of intention

Wayne Dyer said, “if we focus on what's ugly, we attract more ugliness into our thoughts, and then into our emotions, and ultimately into our lives.”

We’ve all heard some form of this. Like attracts like. Where attention goes, energy flows. Simply put, our thoughts, attention, energy, and intention matters — especially when it comes to our health.

As the year comes to an end and you start to think about your goals for the coming year, we encourage you to step into intentionality. When we step into intentionality, we are more tender with our thoughts and words, our time, ourselves, and our habits. This creates the foundation for achieving what we want to achieve whether it be better health, solid relationships, a fulfilling career, or a more peaceful life.

Here are 4 ways to use the power of intention:

  1. Speak to yourself like you are your best friend. Would you tell your best friend that they’re a failure? No. Would you tell your best friend that they look hideous today? No. What would you tell your best friend? Talk to yourself like that instead.
  2. Don’t believe everything you think. Instead, remain curious about your thoughts. Are they valid? Are they coming from a place of fear? Jealousy? Or are they coming from love?
  3. Carve out time for what matters. If you don’t make time for the things that are important to you, “bad habits” will take over. Even if you only have 2 minutes to yourself in the morning, create a quick schedule. Include time to move, nourish your body, and actively quiet your mind.
  4. Use the power of friendship. Accountability is a lot more important than it’s given credit for. Ask a buddy to help you stay on track by joining a workout class together, going for a walk, or setting up a weekly call to talk out your goals for the week. As our friend Dr. Mark Hyman says, “getting healthy is a team sport!”

Change your state with alternate nostril breathing

The best way to get out of a state of stress or anxiety is often with the breath. Our favorite exercise for a state change is Nadi Shodhana or alternate nostril breathing which has been shown to reduce stress, increase lung capacity, and support the nervous system. Here’s how to do it.

Every month we're highlighting beeya enthusiasts.

We were so honored to be featured in a recent episode of Forever 35 podcast! Check out our friend Hitha Palepu sharing all of her favorites, including beeya's seed cycling protocol.
