How I keep myself healthy as a busy CEO
5 wellness tips to fuel founders and leaders.
I have to be honest—being a founder and running a company that fuels my passion is one of the greatest honors of my life, and it’s also really hard at times.
Anyone who is on a mission in life knows what I’m talking about. Sometimes, it can feel all consuming. But here’s the thing: I can’t just preach about a healthy lifestyle and burn myself out in the process. I also have to walk the talk.
Here are 5 ways I weave wellness into my days as the founder and CEO of beeya:
Number 1: Seed Cycle Every Morning
Seed cycling transformed my life in so many ways. It gave me easier periods and allowed me to show up and run a business, regardless of where I am in my cycle. It’s pretty incredible to start a company around a product that I personally use and has changed my health. These days I’ve been starting my mornings with a seed cycling smoothie with a combination of healthy fats, protein, and fiber to keep my menstrual cycle healthy and keep me energized all morning.
Number 2: Mandatory Morning Light
I’m prone to locking myself in my office and working all day, and trust me when I say it’s not good for your mental or physical health to stay inside. So now I try to get outside within an hour of waking up or I’ll walk to a pilates class in the morning. Morning sunlight is not only a huge mood booster but it helps reset the circadian rhythm, which leads to better sleep at night.
Number 3: Mid-Day Magnesium Break
When I used to feel overwhelmed I would reach for an extra coffee to power me through. This only left me feeling jittery, and it messed up my sleep. Now, I take a magnesium break instead. I mix my beeyavibe magnesium into 8 ounces of water and enjoy for more relaxation, anti-anxiety effects, and so many other benefits.
Number 4: An Afternoon or Evening Walk
I spend so much of my day sitting in front of my computer, so walking breaks are a must. Breaking up your day with short walks can be super beneficial for our mental health, cardiovascular health, and total body health – walking is really a miracle cure! It’s also a great way for me and my husband to connect after a long day of working.
Number 5: Red Light Nights
Nothing has improved my heart rate variability as much as red light therapy. It is 100% my favorite way to wind down at the end of the day. From skin health, to sleep, to hormonal health, pain relief, and cognitive health, red light therapy has so many amazing benefits. As soon as my red light turns on, it’s time for me to end the day and unplug.
These simple yet powerful practices have made their way into my daily routine, and I can honestly say they are what keep me grounded as a business-owner. I hope that you find ways to weave wellness into your daily life—your body will truly thank you for it!
