Gingerbread Oats With Brown Butter Pecan Maple Glaze Recipe
The most scrumptious wintery oats out there!
Serves: 1

Ingredients:
- ⅓ cup steel cut oats
- 1 cup milk of choice
- ½ tsp gingerbread spice (*see below to make your own or sub pumpkin pie spice)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of sea salt
- 1 egg (whisked with a splash of milk of choice)
Maple Topping:
- 2 Tbsp grass-fed butter
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 handful of semi-crushed pecans
- pinch of sea salt
- beeya
*Gingerbread spice mix: 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon, 1 Tbsp ground ginger, ½ tsp ground allspice, ½ tsp ground cloves, ½ tsp ground nutmeg, ½ tsp ground cardamom
Steps:
- Cook the oats with the milk, spices, vanilla, and salt until done.
- While the oats are cooking you can brown the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat, once browned, reduce the heat and add the maple syrup, pecans, and salt. Stir for 30 seconds to 1 minute over heat then remove from heat.
- When the oats are almost done, stir in the whisked egg and simmer for another 30 seconds to 1 minute. Pour the oatmeal into a serving bowl.
- Top the oatmeal with the maple pecan glaze and finish your nourishing bowl with a scoop of beeya seeds. Top with extra cinnamon too if desired.
